CARACAS, Venezuela – How ‘mad’ can angry people get?
Apparently, some people just can’t get a hold of themselves when they’re angry; as shown in a video footage of a man accused of being a thief as he was beaten and set on fire by an angry mob which stunned the online community.
Kelly-Ann Mills mentioned in her article for The Mirror published on April 8 that a large crowd gathered around the man identified as Josue Fuentes Bernal.
Bernal was seen in the video sitting on the road with a large gash on the back of his head. Before the video was recorded, it becomes obvious that Bernal had earlier been brutally attacked by the mob.
Bernal is seen lying injured; with men, one by one, coming up to shout at him. Nobody in the crowd tried to intervene as they all watched the bloodied man trying to sit up.
An article by The Daily Star published on April 8 said that a few moments later, a clear flammable liquid was poured over Bernal’s head and body, and then immediately, someone lights him up and Bernal goes up in flames.
As the victim’s screams filled the area, the crowd started to disperse, while a few people tried to extinguish the flame with a coat then later with some water.
Local media said Bernal was taken to a hospital where doctors treated him for 70 percent burns across his body.
The incident happened in Caracas, in Venezuela, South America and happened a few days after another man was burned alive by an angry mob in the same city.
The group suspected the victim of trying to steal a bus and took the law into their own hands.
