How will you be affected by old age? Well, there is this 78-year-old woman who embraced old age with a stronger body and is now getting online admiration for her weightlifting powers.
The international community has shared that this septuagenarian power lifter is currently impressing and inspiring attendees at the Club Fitness in Wood River, Illinois.
In addition, she is also getting online admiration after her story was posted on Instagram; where she got more than 72,000 favorites and over 18,000 comments as of posting
Webb has an inspiring story behind her. Two years ago, she was seemingly succumbing to old age; she had trouble climbing stairs and getting up from a seated position without help. But now, because of her workout, she keeps getting stronger everyday. To note, she can also deadlift 225 lbs.! A real wow!
Moreover, Webb has set lifting records in Illinois and Missouri, deadlifiting 235 lbs. and 215 lbs. in competition. She plans on setting the national record this June — a first in her age group.
Interestingly, aside from weightlifting, there are certain ways to grow old without feeling old, according to WikiHow.
- Keep age in perspective. Never think of age as being anything but just a number.
- Live and enjoy each day. There is always something positive or something to look forward to each day.
- Don’t waste your time thinking that you’re too old to do this or that. As long as you have your health, you can do just about anything you find an interest in doing.
