WELLINGTON, New Zealand – A video of a loving grandson who asked his grandmother to dance despite her being unable to walk is touching the hearts of online users across the world.
David Jeans mentioned in his article for Mail Online published on March 4 that Jarryd Stoneman from Wellington, in New Zealand asked his grandmother to dance to which she replied “yes” and nods.
The video footage shows the pair moving around the living room while enjoying Lukas Graham’s song 7 Years.
“Asked nanny for a dance, she can’t remember much but she still knows how to move,” Stoneman captioned the video.
An article by 9News published on March 4 said the pair starts to dance slowly as his grandmother turned a little unsteady on her feet without her walking frame.
Although visibly unsteady, Stoneman’s grandmother appears to be overwhelmed with joy as her grandson carry her and circle her in the room. At one point of the video, the grandson gets on his knees, and they smile at each other before embracing.
“She can’t walk but she can dance,” Stoneman said.
The grandmother’s smile grows bigger as Stoneman continued to dance with her, and there’s one time she looks directly at the camera showing the sweet smile.
“Still got it hey nanny,” said Stoneman.
Johny Lieu mentioned in his article for Mashable published on March 4 that Stoneman gave his grandma a kiss on her head and asks if they should have breakfast together, to which she nods and he retrieves her walking frame.
The video has generated positive comment from online users; most of them admiring the gesture of the loving grandson. Some of the commenters even said they are moved by the emotional bond shown in the video.
