- In total, Robredo got 45% of more than 11,000 respondents
Vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo of the ruling Liberal Party (LP) got the top notch of a recent university poll.
In the mock elections conducted by the University of the Philippines fraternity Alpha Sigma Fraternity from February 24 to March 11, LP’s bet got 45% out of the 11,755 respondents.
According to a PhilStar story, Senator Grace Poe’s running mate Senator Francis Escudero comes in at a far 2nd with 1,939 votes or (16%). Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s partner, ranked third with 1,874 votes.
Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr., on the other hand, got the fourth spot with 12% of votes. Marcos topped the recent Pulse Asia survey commissioned by ABS-CBN.
Senators Antonio Trillanes IV and Gringo Honasan II were both at the lowest ranks with 475 and 474 votes, respectively.
The vice presidential race is dominated by Escudero, Marcos and Robredo based on pre-election surveys.
Last year, Robredo’s numbers were far from Marcos and Escudero at 14% last December. But when the candidates enter the campaign period proper her numbers shoot up to 20%. A Pulse Asia survey even noted that she was the biggest gainer of the poll for the period of March 1 to 6.
