- Member of Taiwanese boy band, Ken Chu, is now engaged to be married
- Manager confirms he applied for a marriage license in his girlfriend’s hometown
- License will take time to process due to their different nationalities
- Jerry Yan is the only other member of F4 who is still single and available
MANILA, Philippines – Ladies, Ken Chu is officially off the market.
According to his manager who told Singapore’s Strait Times, the 37-year-old Chu — a member of Taiwan’s famous F4 boy band — is set to be married anytime this year with his girlfriend Chinese actress Vivien Han Wenwen.
He has denied earlier speculations that the two were already married after being at Bangkok Airport on Wednesday, March 16; saying they were just on vacation after Chu went to his fiancée’s hometown in Dalian to apply for the marriage license.
He added that due to their differing nationalities (Chu is Taiwanese while Han is Chinese), the processing of their application will take more time than usual.
The couple were first linked together after they were photographed holding hands inside a mall last June 2015.
With the engagement, Chu will be the third F4 member to get married after Vanness Wu in 2013 and Vic Chou last November.
Only one other member of the boy band, Jerry Yan, remains single although he is rumored to be engaged in an on-and-off relationship with his ex-girlfriend model-actress Lin Chi-Ling.
F4 gained a sizeable following in the Philippines following the release of the popular TV series Meteor Garden in 2003 which was based on the Japanese manga Boys over Flowers.
In the series, Chu — who played the serial playboy Xi Men — was a good friend of female protagonist Shan Cai (Barbie Hsu).
