Vice Presidential candidate and Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. won the support of One Cebu party.
This was disclosed by Cebu Fourth District Rep. Benhur Salimbangon as he said that the heads of National Unity Party (NUP) in the fourth district of Cebu, also members of the One Cebu party, expressed solid support for Marcos’s vice presidential bid, an article written by Rosette Adel which was published by Philippine Star mentioned.
Upon the invitation of Salimbangon, Marcos went to Cebu for the second time to campaign.
As a manifestation of support, a 2,000-strong crowd gathered at the municipality of Bantayan chanted the name of “Bongbong Marcos” when Salimbangon asked them who their vice president is.
Another loyal supporter of the Marcoses is the host of the event in the vote-rich Cebu, Bantayan Mayor Ian Escario.
Escario noted that he belongs to the third generation of their family further stressing that his grandparents as well as his parents have been loyal supporters of the Marcoses.
As such, Marcos expressed thanks to the people of Bantayan for their unwavering support. The endorsement, he said, will make a big difference.
Also present during the event were former Vice Mayor Dori Cabrera, Romeo Villaceran, and NUP-One Cebu mayoralty candidates for the towns of Madridejos and Sta Fe.
Last week, Marcos have been very vocal in hoping to get the endorsement of One Cebu Party led by the influential Garcia clan as he admitted he already had talks with the bloc.
In March 18, the senator held his first campaign in Cebu seeking to woo its 2.7 million registered voters. He earned the endorsement of Cordova Mayor Adelino Sitoy that time.
