- Two Red Ribbon crew assisted a customer with a broken sandal
- They used strips of red ribbons to do the repair
- Grateful customer shares the heartwarming experience on social media
The service beyond duty of two Red Ribbon crew from the Visayas Avenue Branch are being acknowledged and affirmed by online users since February 24; after a post from the Evan Demata Facebook page managed to touch a lot of online readers.
The commendable post has reached more than 7,400 likes and more than 700 shares as of posting.
Apparently, a certain Reah Tulas from Project 6 sent a private message to the Evan Demata page; requesting that her heartwarming experience be shared for more people to know about.
As shared by the page, Reah Tulas had just stepped out of the Red Ribbon Visayas Avenue Branch around 8pm on February 21, 2016 after buying a box of cake when the sole of one of her sandals suddenly detached; making it impossible for her to wear it any longer.
Noticing her trouble, one of the crew went out of the store to see how he could be of help. Ms. Tulas then asked for a plastic bag to put her broken sandal in; regretful that she hadn’t brought an extra pair of slippers.
To her surprise, she was instead asked to sit down while the crew attended to her broken footwear.
Since they could not find some glue or any similar material to repair the sandal with, the staff used their creativity instead. The only thing they could come up with was their red ribbons; so they thought of a way to temporarily repair the footwear using exactly those.
And voila! Ms. Tulas did not have to leave with one foot bare. Surprisingly, the repair comes with style. The ribbon was intricately and beautifully knotted to the sandal by the crew in the photo; giving the broken footwear a new and, some did say, a better look.
Delighted over the unexpected assistance and the artwork that went with it, Ms. Tulas asked to take a picture of them, but forgot to ask their name in her excitement.
Some online users who saw the post expressed their admiration and appreciation for the crew. One commenter even said there is that huge difference when people love their work.
Ms. Tulas ends her post with: “SALUDO ako sa yo kuya #RED RIBBON Visayas Avenue Branch..napakabait mo at madiskarte. sana lahat ng staff katulad mo. Maraming Salamat sa Malasakit!”
[I salute you, Brother. You are so kind and ingenious. Hoping all staff are like you. Thank you for your concern!]
The Red Ribbon crew are yet to be identified. For the meantime, let’s take a closer look at those ‘Red Ribbons’ that went an extra mile.
