Amidst the frenzied social media fascination with “Carrot Man” comes a challenger – Neil Galuten Matchok of Bontoc, Mountain Province, or better known as the “Cabbage Man.”
A collection of Neil’s photos is now making rounds on social media and is being compared to the photos of “Carrot Man.”
Neil’s sister, Amy Galuten Matchos-Paduyos, first shared the photos on Facebook; labeling it just for fun as “Cabbage Man” because it included photos of Neil carrying baskets of cabbages. The collection also included photos of Neil which might justly challenge “Carrot Man” as the latest social media cutie.
However, it did not take too long before other users shared the photos on the social media website. As of posting, the photos have nearly 600 shares.
Some netizens commented how cute and handsome “Cabbage Man” is; with some even saying that “Cabbage Man” is looks more manly than “Carrot Man.”
According to an article published by Social Trends PH, there is now an alleged debate brewing on social media on who between “Carrot Man” and “Cabbage Man” is cuter.
“Carrot Man”, whose name is Jeyrick Sigmaton of Bauko, Mountain Province skyrocketed to social media fame when Edwina Bandong, a Kapampangan professional baker who happened to spot him while on a motorcycle road trip to Sagada, Mountain Province, posted his photos on Facebook.
Edwina is also a photography enthusiast and thought it would be a good idea to take the handsome farmer’s pictures. Edwina posted the photos on her Facebook account totally unexpecting that it would become a trending topic on the internet.
Her friends later shared the photos after noticing how ruggedly handsome the young farmer looks. Not long after, the photos of the photogenic carrot-carrying farmer caught the hearts of the social media community, and thus the birth of “Carrot Man.”
