The Christmas season is one of the most anticipated events in the Filipino calendar. It’s a time for families to come together and celebrate the love they have for each other. Indeed, there’s no better feeling than what comes after the clock strikes 12AM on Christmas Eve – sitting together with our loved ones to partake of the Noche Buena feast. However, not everyone had a stellar Christmas celebration last year. This netizen’s Facebook post became a viral topic online after they placed an order of lechon baboy (roasted pig) and received this unimpressive skeleton.
Not only was the lechon baboy completely lackluster – but the netizen’s family had yet to receive a refund for it.
The delivery person arrived with their order – but accepted their payment without a receipt. When they uncovered the packaging, they were disappointed to find that the roast pig was not how they ordered it.
According to the netizen, “nung binuksan po nmin nakakadismaya Butot balat. kita na ribs ng baboy. tapos sobrang dry and makunat.”
They even weighed the lechon on a scale and found that it wasn’t 5 kilos.
Naturally, the netizen’s family contacted the catering service to complain. The netizen spoke with the owner’s grandchild and they reached an agreement – they would refund PHP5,500 on Christmas Day, Dec. 25 and they could eat the roast that was delivered.
On Dec. 19, the delivery boy finally arrived to give them their refund – a total of PHP3500. The netizen did not accept the refund because it was less than the agreed upon amount. The netizen said their family plans to file a case against the catering service.
