Family’s year-long savings was able to fill two entire beds

The most anticipated time of the year has gotten us all in a frenzy—from last minute shopping sprees to a whole lot of Christmas parties to attend to. But aside from all the holiday gatherings, one of the most essential parts of this season is saving up money as the Yuletide festivities wouldn’t be complete without gifts and sumptuous food.

There are those who start saving up money several months before December comes, while there are people who use their 13th month pay for Christmas expenditures. Others, on the other hand, try their luck with different kinds of “ipon challenges” throughout the year. As for the family of Facebook user Abby Sarmiento Mendoza, it seemed like they took the money-saving challenge way farther than anyone can imagine.

Abby’s post on Facebook instantly caught the attention of a huge number of netizens. The netizen uploaded pictures showing what she and her family were able to save up for an entire year. The images showed saved-up coins and paper bills which filled up two entire beds.

Aside from those, there is also a huge glass container situated at the corner of the room which was also overflowing with cash. Moreover, the glass cube has names printed on it as well as illustrations of a plane and a house to encourage them to save up.

Abby did not indicate the total amount of their money, though it’s probably safe to say that they can book a flight anywhere they want just by looking at the cluttered PHP 1,000 bills on the bed.

As of this writing, the Facebook post, which was uploaded on December 20, has now acquired around 5,900 mixed reactions and 15,000 shares from online users.
