It can be annoying to hear your phone buzz only to see a scammer messaging you that you “won” in some raffle you didn’t even join. Well, in the Philippines, this is quite a regular thing for anyone who owns a phone. But to all deceivers out there, beware of a young student who might just outplay you with her wittiness.
A young student named Shaina Gimao shared how she exacted revenge on her scammer on Twitter. Upon receiving the dreaded message, Shaina wanted the swindler to get a taste of their own medicine so she replied with a little scam message of her own.
She wrote:
“Congratulations! You have successfully subscribed to Prayer Of The Day! 50 Pesos will be deducted from your load.“
This was followed by a bible quote which made the swindler panic and reply “Cancel.” The girl then replied with the standard: “Sorry, you have entered an invalid code. Please try again,” followed with more Bible quotes.
Her tweet gained a lot of likes and retweets and even an international publication messaged her if they could use her post.
What can you say about the girl’s response? Are you also fed up with receiving text messages that are actually scams? Share your thoughts, reactions, and opinions in the comments section below!
