The Yuletide season is fast approaching. What comes along this most anticipated season is the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), an annual film festival held in Metro Manila. Movie junkies, especially those who look up to Filipino films, are surely ecstatic to see the films that will be shown in local theatres this year.
Included in the roster of films is “Gandarrappido: The Revenger Squad,” starring Vice Ganda, Pia Wurtzbach, and Daniel Padilla. It was not too long ago when Vice Ganda revealed his target profit for the movie. The “It’s Showtime” host said:
“P1 Billion, P1 Billion, P1 Billion. Pag binigay, eh, di bongga! Clap! Clap! Clap! Champion!”
“Pag hindi, thank you pa rin. Kasi for sure, may ibibigay pa rin na malaki sa amin ang Diyos. Kasi pinagtrabahuhan ng maraming tao ito, eh, kaya alam kong ibe-bless ng Diyos. Pinagtrabahuhan ng marami at ginawa namin ‘to nang may magandang intensyon, hindi pera-pera lang,” he added.
On the other hand, Vic Sotto reacted to Vice Ganda’s claim. Vic gave a straightforward answer and said:
“Mathematically, it’s impossible. As a whole, pwede. Baka ‘yun ang sinasabi ni Vice. For the entire (MMFF), hindi ‘yung pelikula lang niya.”
Bossing will also star in a movie which will be included in this year’s MMFF. He will appear in the film “Meant To Beh” alongside Dawn Zulueta, JC Santos, Daniel Matsunaga, Gabbi Garcia, Ruru Madrid and Baby Baste.
The “Eat Bulaga” host also admitted that he is not pressured as to who will claim the number one spot in this year’s MMFF.
“Number one, hindi ko na iniisip ‘yun, eh. Sa tagal ko na sa festival, ang iniisip ko lang eh maraming manood ng festival. Not for anything else, not to take away credit from the past festival, I believe it did well, I just want a lot of people to be happy, to be merry this Christmas. Kahit anon’g type mong panoorin.”
Bossing quipped that there are a lot of movies to choose from, yet ultimately, his only wish was for people to watch and support the Filipino movies.
“Magaganda ‘yung line-up. We have mga fantasy movies, we have mga drama, may musical, may Larawan, may Siargao, marami kang pagpipilian.
Mas maganda nga, panoorin mo lahat. Anyway, it will run for 10 days or 14 days, two weeks. So you have all the time to watch Filipino movies. And for me personally, basta ang gusto ko maraming manood ng mga pelikula,”
