Kapuso superstar Marian Rivera’s contract with GMA-7 will expire in January 2018, the same time her primetime “Super Ma’am” is set to close its curtains. Because of this, some people are speculating that the actress might transfer to the rival network ABS-CBN.
This rumor was allegedly taken down by Marian’s camp, who claims that the Kapuso star will remain a Kapuso. In 2013, in fact, the same rumor circulated on the web. GMA-7 Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon told the media that she would stay. He said:
“She grew up with the network; there was no reason for her [to jump ship]. We have many big plans for her. We love her not just as an actress, but also as a person.”
Marian then expressed her gratitude to her home network, saying that she would not be where she is today if not because of GMA-7’s efforts. She added, in fact, that it was not a hard decision to stay.
Meanwhile, Marian shared in a recent interview how she and her family will be spending Christmas.
“We’re having a Christmas break from the taping of my show, ‘Super Ma’am’, kaya vacation mode talaga kami ngayon. Christmas Eve, doon kami sa family ni Dong at sa mismong Christmas Day, punta naman kami sa lola at mama ko sa Cavite. Mas masaya ang Pasko namin ngayon kasi two years old na si Baby Zia at madaldal na. Mas naa-appreciate na ‘yung Kapaskuhan and looking forward siya to opening her Christmas presents.”
Marian added that her beloved hubby Dingdong Dantes arranged a surprise for them.
“On December 26, aalis kaming lahat, ang family nina Dong at ang family ko, pero kung saan ‘yung destination namin, ayaw sabihin ni Dong. Siya lang ang nakakaalam para surprise daw. Lagi naman siyang ganun kahit before.”
