According to the Standard, the woman was first struck by a truck as she was crossing the street while the traffic lights were green. Another truck and two cars also run over her.
None of the vehicles stopped at the scene, says the police.
The 29-year-old woman, who died at the scene while being treated, will be formally identified by her relatives who were already notified of the death.
Two of the drivers involved in the incident have already come forward to the police, the other two have yet to be identified. The police urged them to come forward.
“We are grateful for all those witnesses who have come forward, but we continue to appeal for anyone who was passing and witnessed the collision and the moments afterwards to contact us immediately. Inquiries are continuing to trace the two outstanding vehicles involved. A number of actions, including the recovery of local CCTV footage are in hand,” Acting Detective Sergeant Alastair Middleton said.
“I would urge the two drivers we are yet to trace, come forward and speak with my team,” he added.
