Even though there are plenty of networks in the country, there are only two who can lay claim to being the biggest ABS-CBN and GMA.
Due to the strong rivalry between these two networks, it is quite rare when Kapamilya stars mingle with their Kapuso counterparts, and vice-versa.
Although these celebs often do side projects with different networks (like Dingdong Dantes starring in a couple of Star Cinema films), it’s usually a shock when people see Kapamilya and Kapuso stars getting along with each other.
Here are just some of the notable #FriendshipGoals that these celebs from rival networks embody!
1. Julia Barretto and Gabbi Garcia
Julia is from ABS-CBN, the home network of her fellow Barretto aunts (and mom) while Gabbi is a well-known ‘sang’gre’ from GMA’s ‘Encantadia.’
Julia and Gabbi were part of a barkada when they studied at the same all-girls school. In fact, GMA reported that Gabbi even attended Julia’s debut in Makati which was filled with Kapamilya stars!
2. Kristoffer Martin and Paul Salas
Kristoffer is a Kapuso while Paul is a Kapamilya. Both are good friends and gym buddies and it was reported that Paul even attends some of the events Kristoffer is involved in for the Kapuso network.
Kristoffer is also friends with ABS-CBN stars Barbie Imperial, Chie Filomeno, and Sue Ramirez.
3. Jona Viray and Kris Bernal
Jona is an actress under Star Magic while Kris works for GMA.
When Jona decided to transfer to ABS-CBN in March 2016, Kris mentioned that she’ll always be there for her "through thick and thin... til we find our forevers."
Kris also watched Jona’s concert early this year.
4. Sandara Park and Katrina Halili
Sandara is one of ABS-CBN's darlings while Katrina is a known talent under GMA. When Sandara celebrated her birthday in Manila last November 2016, Katrina personally went to ABS-CBN to greet the Korean-born actress.
The two have always kept in touch through Twitter after Sandara left the Philippines to live in South Korea.
5. Angelica Panganiban and Glaiza de Castro
Angelica works for ABS-CBN while Glaiza appears on GMA’s ‘Encantadia.’ It was reported that these two have been calling each other 'amiga' for 15 years now.
6. Camille Prats and Kaye Abad
They have remained friends for 20 years even when Camille switched to GMA in 2004. They never forget to attend each other's celebrations and milestones in life.
7. Rufa Mae Quinto and Mariel Padilla
Rufa Mae is a Kapuso while Mariel is a Kapamilya. The two used to work with each other in ‘Wil Time Bigtime,’ a now-defunct show produced by TV-5.
They also consider each other “breast friends.”
8. Iza Calzado, Sunshine Dizon, and Karylle
Iza and Karylle are ABS-CBN actresses, while Sunshine works for GMA. Iza and Sunshine appeared in the original version of ‘Encantadia,’ where Karylle joined their squad.
9. Anne Curtis, Isabelle Daza, and Solenn Heussaff
Anne is a Kapamilya while Solenn and Isabelle are Kapuso stars. Even though they appear on rival networks, they each have endorsements with one another.
They also travel and go to the gym together.
10. Jericho Rosales, Ryan Agoncillo, and Drew Arellano
Jericho works for ABS-CBN while Ryan and Drew both belong to GMA. These boys are so tight that they call their squad the ‘Brap Pack.’
Their latest 'inaanak' is Drew’s baby with his wife Iya. Their respective wives are also close with one another.
11. Kim Atienza and Dingdong Dantes
Kuya Kim works for ABS-CBN while Dingdong is GMA’s heartthrob. Both of them love triathlons so much that they instantly became friends.
They’re also biking buddies with the boys of the ‘Brap Pack.’
12. Regine Velasquez and Jaya
Regine is a Kapuso while Jaya is a Kapamilya. The 'magkumares' became best friends when they appeared in ‘SOP’ back in the year 2000.
Sweet! What do you think of their #FriendshipGoals? Do you know of any similar relationships between other GMA and ABS-CBN actors as well?
