Karylle continues to be unstoppable in her quest for international super stardom. The daughter of the divine diva, Zsa Zsa Padilla, is known for being a mainstay in the noontime variety show It’s Showtime. She is also a theater actress and an art enthusiast.
She first hit the international television scene when she starred in Kitchen Musical as Maddie Avilon, Christian Bautista’s love interest. Then she also was cast as Tala Sison in Point of Entry in 2012.
This year she will once again be seen by Singaporean viewers when she portrays Maia, a Filipina pole dancer who is also a scam artist pretending to be a private investigator. The series is a 13-episode thriller drama featuring several personalities from different countries.
Karylle is the only Filipina who was cast in Private Investigator. Her character is a single mother, which is her primary motivation for being a scammer.
Karylle relates her joy of being able to work again in Singapore to Pep.PH. She mentioned that Singaporeans always love to have Filipinos around at work or as friends.
She also shared how disciplined the production team is. Every shoot is scheduled to strictly be 12 hours. They even worry when they beyond the prescribed shooting time.
Karylle is also amazed at how professional she was treated by the staff and crew during her stay there.
When asked if she experienced homesickness during her two month stay in Singapore, she answered that she had no problem adjusting whatsoever, since the Filipino community based there was very warm and accommodating.
Private Investigator will air on Singapore’s Mediacorp starting January 9 via Channel 5 (in Singapore) and on the Toggle.Sg app online.
