True love transcends space and time. And in this case, death itself.
Meet Chun and Long, a couple from Thailand who was supposed to be engaged on December 31, 2016 – until fate decided otherwise.
On October 2016, Long was on his way to pick up Chun when he became involved in a vehicular accident. He was riding his motorcycle and was hit so hard that literally flew from his vehicle.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where it was discovered that he suffered from organ failure and severe physical injuries. He died the very next day.
Even though she was devastated, Chun still continued to keep her promise of love. That’s why on December 31, Chun continued with their engagement plans.
She wore traditional clothes and make up to the ceremony, accompanied by Long’s family.
Long’s mother put the ring on Chun’s finger.
Chun was quoted as saying the following statements:
“On December 31, our engagement is done. We used to think that on this day, we would follow Thai tradition, dressed up in traditional outfit, kneel in front of our parents as gratitude for bringing us up.”
“You are now in another dimension, but it doesn’t matter. My love for you goes beyond that. Whether you’re here or afterlife, I would still marry you. I love you forever and will never give up on you. We still have a long way to go, do you hear me?” she added.
“Today is the most important date of our lives. Rich or poor, sweet or bitter, I would hold your hands and complete this journey together.”
