Filipina beauty is a treasure known to most people all over the world, which is why many foreigners want to make wives out of the women blessed with Philippine blood.
However, some of these marriages end in disaster, much like how 37-year-old Grace was murdered by her German husband.
Determined to go on his Thailand pleasure trip, Horst Koenig bludgeoned his Filipina wife with a hammer and hit her in the temple while she was asleep in their bed.
The 53-year-old then cut his wife into 8 pieces, stuffed them into plastic bags and hid them in a warehouse. Before quickly hopping on his flight, the chemical laboratory assistant emptied his wife’s bank account and took off.
When asked what he did in Pattaya, Thailand, he said that he met up with women. He described the experience as “exciting and many of my secret desires seemed to come true.”
He admitted to killing his wife because she would “have to be out of the way” in order for him to go to his trip.
Upon the expiration of his visa and with empty pockets, Koenig went back to his home in Germany where he was arrested. Police found strong evidence against Koenig after they found his computer in the warehouse he rented and saw Google searches of murder methods and how to hide bodies.
District Judge Christoph Wiesner in Augsburg, Bavaria sentenced Koenig to a life sentence in prison.
The lawyer of the slayed Filipina, Mandana Mauss, revealed that Grace's relatives were relieved by the court’s decision and said that they only wanted justice for their loved one.
However, German law states that one could be released early once he is 74 years old and eligible.
