People all around the world will be celebrating the holidays whatever religion or culture they are in. Sharing gifts and being reunited with our loved ones are one of the common things you’ll see and experience during this time of the year.
However, homeless people and some of the elderly spend their Christmas alone and with no food.
But this certain restaurant owner named Hasan Masud did something touching and his gesture became viral. Being the owner of Shish, a Turkish Restaurant in London, he showed everyone that despite coming from a different culture he can still celebrate Christmas!
He placed a hand-written poster saying, “No one eats alone on a Christmas Day! We are here to sit with you.” The restaurant offers 3 course meal from 12-6pm for the homeless and the elderly.
Hasan Masud said on his interview with BuzzFeedNews that his intention was to help people.
“We’re just helping people. Lots of people stay home alone for Christmas… They don’t need to. They can come here and have some fun,” Masud said.
As the post went viral, from a hand-written sign they upgraded it to flyers and posters. Many applauded the touching gesture of the establishment.
