In an episode of ‘It’s Showtime’ on November 18, host Vice Ganda expressed her disappointment after knowing that her film with ‘Ang Probinsyano’ star Coco Martin will not be included in upcoming the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival.
Movies that will be screened on Christmas Day as part of the MMFF were announced last Friday and many were surprised when Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto cinematic vehicles were not included.
“Wala kaming film festival. See you next year sa sinehan. Good luck sa mga movies na pumasok” Vice Ganda said with evident disappointment in his face.
The TV comedian dubbed as the “Phenomenal Star” refused to elaborate his comment when asked by the ABS–CBN News.
Vice Ganda then went to Twitter to express gratitude to his fans who have been sending him touching messages since the announcement was made.
“Salamat sa mga tweets niyo. Nata-touch ako. Salamat po! At mahal na mahal ko kayo.”
According to reports, the MMFF 2016 selection committee headed by Nicanor Tiongson of the University of the Philippines Film Institute chose the entries based on their “quality” and not on possible ticket sales in December.
