A few netizens expressed their misguided approval regarding replacing the image of the Aquino couple with Ferdinand Marcos’ picture on the 500 peso-bill. These people seem to have forgotten the dictatorship many Filipinos suffered under Marcos’ Martial Law regime.
An edited version of the 500 peso-bill with Ferdinand Marcos’ image went viral moments after the Supreme Court released its decision over Marcos’ hero’s burial.
The photo was posted by the Facebook page “Kuya Erwin Tol” with the caption:
Netizens immediately responded and encouraged people to agree on replacing the image in the 500 peso-bill.
However, some of the more level-headed netizens opposed the idea, claiming that Marcos is not a hero.
Earlier last month, calls for returning Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) back to its original name Manila International Airport (MIA) also caught the attention of the social media community.
