Donald Trump just won the United States Presidential Election, beating out former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by about a million votes.
“I’ve just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She congratulated us – it’s about us – on our victory and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard-fought campaign.” Trump said.
Trump’s win comes as a shock, considering his widely publicized controversies regarding allegations of sexual harassment and tax evasion.
Trump’s platform consisted of racially-divisive rhetoric and misogynistic remarks. His scandals did little to curb his momentum, however, as he is now the 45th president of The United States of America.
What this means for the Filipino people, whose country he has branded as a “terrorist nation”, remains to be seen.
