Vice President Leni Robredo personally flew to Davao to reach out to the victims of the bombing to console them and extended her support as she motivated families.
She visited both the survivors in the hospital and the wake of the fallen.
Many are pleased with Robredo believing that her intentions were pure and had been a genuine act of compassion.
"mga kababayan mka duterte man o maka yellow.. this is not the time for us to be divided... if the Pres or the VP visits the victims of Davao Blast, then lets be thankful to that.. instead of criticizing each others, lets pray together for our country.. #prayforPH," says netizen Jerson Donasco.
"Guys stop the hate. Now is not the time to point fingers to anybody,it is the time that we should unite. We should stand together as one nation to fight this terrorist. Spread the love..," says another netizen named Mark Joseph Maata.
"UNITY, PEACE AND LOVE is the answer... no more bashing and hate.. pare pareho tayong pilipino... hindi maaayos ang bansang ito kung hindi tayo magtutulungan... Madam Leni, please do everything you can to help out our dear President Duterte...," netizen Tats Martinez said.
"I see this kind of gesture as simple and compassionate. No negative words because I did nothing to my fallen countrymen as compared to what Robredo and Rodrigo has done this past few weeks. It's time to embrace them with love not hate," Jonas Myron Mutuc Espinosa commented.
However some netizens cannot help but to remain skeptic about the VP's intention claiming that it was an act of "pamumulitika" to get the people's attention and sympathy, an act driven by political intentions.
One netizen commented saying, "Of course Mrs. Robredo issued a statement after the bombing. And yes, she is now in Davao three days after the bombing. But still, and if you believe the pictures posted in FB by one of her friends, she partied. She wants to be Vice President? She wants to be respected. Then she should begin to know the meaning of prudence. That is the point."
