Bureau of Customs and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) authorities have countered P7.5 million worth of illegal drugs coming from The Netherlands yesterday at Manila Central Post Office.
According to the report of Aiko Miguel of UNTV, authorities were able to locate party drugs and amphetamine hidden in five parcels of toys.
Amphetamine is a central nervous system stimulant and it is dangerous to a body, importing of it should have a prior permit from Food and Drugs Administration.
“Pwede pa siyang gawing in other form of party drugs. Pwede siya iencapsulate together with another substance at yun ang ididistribute,” Asst. Regional Director of PDEA Christian Frivaldo said.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Enforcement Group Arnel Alcaraz, it is a modus operandi to buy drugs using fake identity and bitcoin, a digital currency. These orders are delivered to central offices.
“This goes to show how rampant the issue of drugs sa bansa. Please, itigil na natin it. Magtulungan tayo to stop it,” Alcaraz said.
