Senator Panfilo Lacson was not happy on Thursday resumption of the senate hearing, as he was caught by surprise when Senator Leila De Lima brought in a witness to the stand, one that they completely had no idea about.
In a televised interview, Lacson expressed his disappointment over De Lima for not having the courtesy to tell him beforehand as the co-chairman of the joint Senate probe.
The witness, Edgar Matobato, dropped blows to the current administration and confessed about the Davao Death Squad. Senator Lacson, Sotto, and Cayetano bombarded him with questions and, in the end, were doubtful of the witness’ credibility.
Lacson was also not convinced about the witness’ statement that a certain terrorist suspect “Sali Makdum” was abducted in 2002 and killed in the office of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force (PAOCTF).
Lacson, former chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), pointed out that PAOCTF was abolished in 2001.
The senator also warned the public that they should take his testimony “with grain of salt”.
Netizens were also doubtful of the witness, saying that De Lima and Trillanes had other agendas with the witness.
