Veteran actress Lilia Cuntapay asked her showbiz co-workers for help after being immobile due to spinal cord illness.
Cuntapay, also dubbed as the “Horror Queen,” was transferred from Cagayan to Ilocos Norte for treatment, but her family doesn’t have the money to cover her medical bills, according to Task Force Lingkod Cagayan’s (TFLC’s) press release.
The 81-year old actress, then, asked if she could send a message to her fellow actors in showbiz, such as Coco Martin and Vice Ganda.
“Sa mga concerned citizens diyan, like yung mga directors ko, mga co-workers ko, wala na ako showbiz dahil may sakit ako,” Cuntapay said. “Kung mahal n’yo pa ako, any help will be appreciated.”
“Nagsimula ang sakit [niya] noong July 5 at mula noon ay nakaupo na lamang sapagkat hindi na makalakad. Nawalan na din siya ng mga proyekto at hanap-buhay dahil sa kanyang karamdaman matapos ang 39 years sa industriya,” TFLC added.
Cuntapay became the Horror Queen because of her roles, like a witch, a ghost, or a mysterious old lady. She had appeared in “Shake, Rattle and Roll,” “Segunda Mano,” “Bahay ni Lola 2,” and many horror flicks since 1991.
