The senate inquiry on the “extra–judicial” killings under Duterte’s administration initiated by the senator Leila De Lima have just started. The Filipino nation is now divided in regards the issue, many remain rooted in the value of preserving human rights while some are on the President’s side on his aggressive approach towards drug and crimes.
Actress and comedian Ai-Ai Delas Alas was among those who have shared their thoughts in regards the issue and have defended Duterte and praised his ways on permanently eradicating crime in the country.
“Nagagalingan ako sa kanya, natutuwa ako sa kanya. Kasi yung mga ipinangako niya, tinutupad naman niya, e… Linisin ang droga, linisin ang Pilipinas, gumanda ang Pilipinas, maging maayos tayong lahat,” the actress commented.
She defended Duterte and vocally expressed her approval on the idea that the criminals need to be dealt with in an aggressive manner.
“Kasi siyempre, para sa akin, opinyon ko lang ‘to, kung ano ang ginagawa ni Duterte, yun yung way niya para dito sa atin… Kasi alam ko talaga ang mga tao na nagbenta dun sa mga nagdodroga, wala naman talaga sa tamang pag-iisip.”
She have also reacted through a post on Instagram on the witnesses Senator De Lima have presented during the senate inquiry where in she said:
“Maraming na re rape na bata at mga matanda , pagnanakaw pagpatay dahil wala sa isip tong mga taong lulong sa droga dahil sa mga nag bebenta ng droga … kung makaiyak si ate akala mo naapi na parang wala sa isip na ilang bata ang nasira ang buhay ng dahil sa pagbebenta ng asawa at tatay nya ng droga.”
Furthermore, she have also mentioned the name of former child star Jiro Manio who was among the victims of drugs as the latter became addicted although is now undergoing rehabilitation.
“So, siguro naiintindihan niyo ako kung bakit ako pabor, kasi alam ko kung ano ang resulta ng mga taong nalulong sa droga.”
