MANILA, Philippines – For trolls to mock Olympians who dedicate their entire lives for that one event they can compete in only once every four years is just wow.
Nestor Colonia is having none of that.
On his Facebook, the Filipino weightlifter beautifully shot down one troll who mocked him for failing to win his event and compared him to Hidilyn Diaz.
The troll, a certain “Morris Ilago Dela Cruz”, ridiculed Colonia for not being able to lift 154kg; saying that Diaz was able to lift 200kg.
Apparently, Dela Cruz was unaware that that 200kg was Diaz’s total score in the entire weightlifting contest which is comprised of the snatch and clean and jerk. 154kg was Colonia’s attempt for the clean and jerk.
In response, Colonia asked Dela Cruz whether he even lifted weights.
“Uy may alam ka ba sa weighlifting? Baka 30 kilos lang mamatay ka na?” he told Dela Cruz.
[Do you even know anything about weighlifting? You might die from lifting just 30 kilos.]
Dela Cruz rambled on however, and even mentioned that he is an OFW who contributed a lot to the country after being asked what his achievements were compared to Colonia’s.
Unfortunately for the troll, an incensed netizen named Kyle Elyk managed to get his pictures and paste them on the comments section.
Elyk also posted the pictures of Dela Cruz on the latter’s Facebook page identifying him as an OFW in Saudi Arabia and told him he should be ashamed of himself for mocking Colonia and using his status as an overseas worker to justify himself.
