“Mag-o-OFW muna ako.”
This is what “It’s Showtime’ host Karylle said on Tuesday, August 8 when she announced that she will be leaving the show for a couple of weeks.
According to an article published by ABS-CBN News, the singer-actress disclosed that she will be leaving for Singapore to shoot a television series entitled “Private Investigator”.
She added that she will be playing the role of Maia, a pole dancer.
“Mami-miss ko ang ‘It’s Showtime’ family kasi dito ako natuto to dream big. Katulad nga ng tulad ng araw-araw na pinapaalala ni Anne, dito talaga ako nagumpisa mangarap para sa sarili ko., para sa bayan. Ang Filipino, world-class athletes, world-class talents, so kailangan natin i-develop iyan,” she said.
[I will really miss the ‘It’s Showtime’ family because this is where I learned to dream big. Just like what Anne says every day, this is where I really learned to dream for myself, for the country. The Filipinos are world-class athletes, world-class talents, so we must really develop that.]
Her ‘It’s Showtime’ co-hosts, who are very proud of her, wished her luck on her new journey.
Vice Ganda told her that they weren’t surprised that Karylle will be doing an international project because her talent deserves to be seen by people around the world.
As for Billy, he said that although it’s going to be challenging for Karylle because she’s going to be far away for quite a while, she deserves greatness and he asked the latter’s husband, Yael Yuzon, who was also there during the announcement, that he can always visit and serve as Karylle’s proxy if he wants.
This is Karylle’s third time working on a project in Singapore.
She played the role of Tala Sison in the third season of the action-drama series “Point of Entry.” In 2011, she played the lead role in the musical restaurant drama television series “The Kitchen Musical”.
