A man wearing the clothes of Ash Ketchum, the main protagonist of the Pokémon anime and manga series, was spotted while playing Pokemon GO at the University of Sto. Tomas (UST).
“Spotted Ash at UST late afternoon today. Things are getting pretty serious,” C.U. captioned the photo which he posted on Facebook. The photo gained a lot of attention from people online.
“The very best like no one ever was,” said Facebook user R.N.
“Intense. Kailangan ko na magpatahi ng suotin ko [I need someone to make my outfit],” D.Y. stated.
“Ash is real!” commented R.J.
Pokemon GO is built on Niantic’s Real World Gaming Platform and uses real locations to encourage players to search for Pokemons in the real world.
“Pokemon GO allows you to find and catch more than a hundred species of Pokemon as you explore your surroundings. The Pokemon video game series has used real-world locations such as the Hokkaido and Kanto regions of Japan, New York, and Paris as inspiration for the fantasy settings in which its games take place. In Pokémon GO, the real world will be the setting!” it was stated on Pokemon’s website.
It was also noted that as a Pokemon trainer moves around, his smartphone will vibrate — a sign that he is near a Pokémon.
Pokemon GO was just launched in the Philippines last Saturday, August 6, 2016.
