Be careful whom you ignore because you just might regret it.
A 20-year-old woman from Austin, Texas claimed that she and Olympic gold medalist Joseph Schooling matched on Tinder and said that she regrets having to ignore him.
The Daily Mail bared Sabryna Salazar’s tweets wherein she posted screenshots of her conversation with Schooling via the dating application Tinder.
Based on the photo, the conversation happened between April 7 and 8, 2016. The photo of the “Joseph” she was chatting with features Schooling at the 2014 Asian Games in Korea.
“My tinder match just won the 100M butterfly final and beat Michael Phelps. This is my greatest achievement,” Salazar wrote on Twitter. Then she followed up with: “and not replying to his message was my greatest failure.”
The Tinder conversation depicted like its supposed to be the start of something romantic.
“Hey! How’s it going beautiful,” chatted supposedly by Schooling.
“It’s going well! How about you,” Salazar responded.
The short love story ended with Schooling’s reply: “Good thanks! Whatcha up to?”
Salazar said she recognized Schooling when she watched the 100m butterfly match and then she quickly looked back on Tinder.
The Daily Mail said Salazar’s tweet went viral reaching more than 33,000 retweets and nearly 70,000 likes as of posting.
“Honestly, I just thought it was hilarious that we had matched at one point. It’s pretty crazy to think you’ve had an interaction with an Olympic gold medal winner,” she said.
Schooling won the 100m butterfly race at the Olympic last Friday; beating the all-time champion Michael Phelps. The young swimmer brought home the first gold medal for Singapore.
