MANILA, Philippines – It has been more than two decades since the musical comedy film “DoReMi” was shown in Philippine theaters, but until now, a lot of Filipinos still remember the movie, which was top billed by Donna Cruz, Regine Velasquez, and Mikee Cojuangco.
Recently, Regine and Donna reunited onstage for an impromptu duet during the Cebu leg of the former’s free concert entitled “PLDT Home The Regine Series Nationwide Tour” held at SM City Cebu, and they sang “I Can”; the theme song of “DoReMi”.
Both of them admitted that they miss Mikee.
They said they are open to doing another project together if they receive an offer.
Donna also shared during the concert that there are a lot of people requesting them to do a “DoReMi” part two.
This reunion of the two stars of the film, seemingly sparked clamor from fans for them do to a sequel of the film.
In fact, a fanmade poster of “DoReMi” part two became viral online after it was posted on Regine’s verified Facebook fan page.
The post received positive feedbacks from social media users who are mostly saying how much they loved the original movie and a sequel would be wonderful.
However, it looks like, we won’t be seeing a “DoReMi” part two anytime soon.
According to an article published by Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), they asked the original writer and concept creator of the film, Mel Mendoza-del Rosario through Facebook Messenger if a sequel is happening this year and she answered: “Naku… parang hindi pa.”

She expressed that she is happy that the fans haven’t forgotten the movie and are still clamoring for a sequel.
“There really was a generation of “DoReMi” cult. A lot of the netizens in their mid-20s to 30s see “DoReMi” as iconic for their time. So maybe, enough clamor from fans might make Boss Vic consider a remake,” she added.
