Actor and model Alden Richards launched his memoir revealing his journey before entering showbiz, all the way to his rise as the so-called “Pambansang Bae.”
In his book, titled Alden Richards: In My Own Words, the 24-year-old actor recounts how he began as in his words, “that eighteen-year-old boy from Laguna who commuted to Manila, driven by a dream,” joining male beauty pageants and encountering some failed auditions in his journey to stardom.
Richards also wrote about some juicy behind-the-scenes facts about his life off camera while also expressing his thoughts about love and dating.
In addition, the book features “the ultimate Alden quiz” that would test fans on interesting trivia about their beloved “bae.”
Of course, the actor also talks about his phenomenal love team, AlDub, with his partner Maine Mendoza, also known as Yaya Dub. In his memoir, Richards devotes an entire chapter as to how the love team began onscreen until how it developed into the worldwide sensation and a deep friendship between the two of them.
Richards says his very first book project is his way of saying thanks to his legions of fans who supported him all the way.
“It’s my gratitude in 120 pages, for you who never gave up on me. With this book, I hope to share snapshots of my life before you knew me, and to divulge things about myself I’ve never revealed before,” he explains to PhilStar.
Alden Richards: In My Own Words, published by Summit Books, is now available in selected bookstores nationwide.
