President Rodrigo Duterte earned many praise for his first ever State of the Nation Address. Despite of the many off-scripts and some passive agressive statements, the president has still earned the hearts of the masses with his platforms, plans and principles.
Checking the facts, this SONA also had a lot of firsts. For one, is the business attire dresscode. For years, it had been a red carpet parade for the long gowns of the congresswomen and wives of the politicians. Second would be the food, which was closely patterned to what was served during the inauguration ceremony of Duterte.
But what surprised everyone was the change outside the Batasan Pambansa. Contrary to the usual scene of an angry mob shouting to oust the president, this year’s SONA had a peace rally. It was totally different. Here’s some compilation of the then and now pictures:
