The first Philippine president to win via a strong social media campaign will have his very own Viber stickers soon after he delivers his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 25.
Communications Secretary Martin Andanar unveiled the #ViberforChange sticker pack that features Duterte’s most iconic poses and catchphrases.
“Part of our role of is to reach out directly to the people which Viber allows us to do. We believe that when citizens engage with the government, they become partners for change,” GMA News Online quoted Andanar’s statement during the launch last Thursday.
Some of Duterte’s notable poses featured in the stickers are his hand on his forehead with the tagline “My Gad!” inspired by his statement during his thanksgiving in Davao City: “My God, I hate drugs!”; “I hate drags!” is now also a Viber sticker.
There is also the iconic clenched fist that Duterte made popular during the campaign along with phrases alluding to him such as: “S.T.O.P!”, “JUST DU IT” and “Partner for Change”.
Aside from the Viber stickers, Malacañang is also encouraging citizens to connect with them by subscribing to their Viber Public Chat.
“Anything goes in the world of social media,” Andanar said. “But we encourage citizen engagement, making them part of the process for positive change in the country.”
