Among the many first of Duterte’s administration, this one is truly touching. If the usual scene for SONA campaigns were mostly full of hate or worse, have been violent, surely this is a surprise for everyone.
Bagong Alyansang Makabayan or Bayan earlier announced that they wouldn’t be doing anti-government demonstrations nor burn any effigies during the first State of the nation Address of President Rodrigo Duterte.
But just when they thought they have surprised everybody, the surprise was on them as Bryan general secretary revealed that they were allowed to come close to the SONA’s venue- Batasang Pambansa. And according to him, this was his “first time” to get this close since he first joined the rallies back in the year 1992. He considered this day, historic.
He clarified that they were not protesting, but was actually supporting the president and said: “Rally ang tawag namin dito…
Although the President apparently didn’t accept the invitation, the group are still in high hopes with the current administration, that finally the voice of the people is now heard.
