After almost three years of marriage, celebrity couple Jason Francisco and Melai Cantiveros decided to part ways.
This was confirmed by Jason himself in an open letter, which he shared in a series of posts on the Instagram account of their only child Amelia “Mela” Lucille.
Jason revealed that their falling out began after Melai accepted the series “We Will Survive”.
He said they had an agreement that Melai won’t have a loveteam partner in the series. Based on what Melai told him, he was made aware that his wife will only have an onscreen partner for the pilot week and after that, the story will revolve around the friendship of the characters played by Melai and Pokwang.

Despite this, Jason felt that there’s something wrong.
In his second post, he said that almost two months had passed before he knew that the storyline of Melai in the series was changed and she will be paired with someone.
Jason said he felt betrayed and because of this, they started giving each other the cold shoulder and he began sleeping in another room.
He admitted that the two of them were fighting almost every day.
As a husband, Jason said that it’s normal for him to be jealous even if it’s just work.

He admitted that he doesn’t like it when other men touch Melai, saying he’s selfish when it comes to his love for his wife.
In his third post, he disclosed that he even tried to talk to the production of “We Will Survive”, to no avail and he added that their marital problem was even treated like a joke during tapings of the series.
He continued that although the production knew that their relationship is already affected, they didn’t change the storyline of Melai’s character.
Jason said he really feels depressed over what happened because he lost his beloved wife.
“Nagkahiwalay po kami. Wala na po ang Melason,” he wrote.
[We already separated. There’s no more Melason.]
In his fifth post, Jason pointed out that an agreement is an agreement, but why is it that it was changed.
He continued that it’s just sad that although they’re ‘Kapamilya”, their relationship wasn’t taken into account, which resulted in their separation.
Jason and Melai’s romance bloomed when they were both “Pinoy Big Brother” housemates. They tied the know on December 9, 2013
