Gaining 13K likes on Facebook and still counting, this photo of a Pennsylvanian father sleeping under his sick son’s crib in a hospital went viral.
As per a story disclosed by ABC13, the father in the photo, named Andre Palmer, was working when his 20-month-old son was admitted to York Hospital’s Pediatric wing after having an asthma attack on Monday evening.
The mother was surprised the next morning when she came to visit her child — as she spotted her husband sleeping right below the baby on the crib.
Amy decided to capture the touching scene and then she shared it on Facebook. Much to her surprise, it went viral.
“This is a picture of a hard working man dedicated to his family!” goes her caption on the photo; pertaining to Andre who works at a manufacturing company. Apparently, her husband had worked all night which made him unable to be with his son when the boy was rushed to the hospital as written in a CNN story.
“After working all night third shift,” the Facebook post further shared, “he’s right here with his son who is in the hospital. He’s so tired but he’s here!! Father of the year award goes to Andre Palmer!!! I love you more than words baby.”
Though Amy was pretty shocked after the photo went viral, she said to CNN that the observed gesture of her husband in the photo is typical of him.
Meanwhile, netizens cheerfully commented on the viral photo.
One Facebook user said, “wow!! this is a REAL FATHER!!! God bless this family and pray the baby gets better.”
“This just literally brought tears to my eye 😛 so sweet this is just what our babies need,” said another.
Indeed, this photo pushes fatherhood to the frontline.
