A week after he surrendered to the Toledo City, Cebu police, Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) 2006 runner-up Jay-R Siaboc appeared on “Tonight with Boy Abunda”on Tuesday night, July 19, to share his story.
Siaboc revealed that the reason why he surrendered to the police was because he feared for his life, after a friend informed him that his name was included in the supposed ‘watch list’ of illegal drug users and pushers.
Becauce of the new administrations’ intense campaign against illegal drugs, he said that being in the ‘watch list’ makes you a priority.
When he surrendered, Siabox shared that the police told him they’ll remove his name from the supossed ‘watch list’.
ABS-CBN News quoted him as saying: “Sabi nila sa akin, sige tatanggalin nga daw ‘yung pangalan ko sa sinasabing ‘watch list.’ Tapos may pina-fill up sila sa akin. The rest po ng nangyari doon, naki-cooperate ako sa kanila. Gusto ko lang po talaga klaruhin, linisin na hindi po totoo ‘yung sinasabi nila.”
[They told me they’ll remove my name from the ‘watch list’. Then they asked me to fill-up a form. The rest of what happened there, I cooperated with them. I just wanted to clear my name from the accusations.]
Siaboc confessed he used drugs in the past but denied he was selling them. He revealed that he stopped using drugs three years ago.
He was surprised when the story of his surrender came out in public and he thinks that someone might have seen him coming to the police station and then told it to other people.
He admitted that because of a lot of things that happened that he wasn’t able to handle very well, he made wrong decisions in life.
Siaboc, who is known for his hit songs “Hiling” and “May Tama Rin Ako”, said he is willing to go back to the music industry if he would be given another chance.
