- A suspected drug pusher was gunned down in Nueva Ecija
- The video of the brutal execution was uploaded on Facebook
- Recent reports said there have been 14 drug-related victims who were killed by suspected vigilantes in the province
MANILA, Philippines – Another suspected drug pusher has fallen victim to a brutal summary execution by unidentified gunmen in Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija.
In a video shared on Ambag Bayan Central Facebook page, the victim can be seen getting off a vehicle parked on a highway before scampering away from motorcycle-riding gunmen who chased and shot him.
Two of the suspects were both wearing black hooded jackets while the other was hidden from the camera’s view.
The short clip showed the assassin shooting at the fleeing victim who fell to the ground just a few meters away from the vehicle.
When it seems that the gunman has finished the job and appears to leave, he suddenly turned back and pumped more bullets into the victim’s body; killing him instantly.
The three attackers then left the area; leaving the lifeless body of the still unidentified victim on the busy road.
The Facebook post did not mention when exactly the killing happened, but said it took place in Barangay Bitas in Cabanatuan City.
But an early report on Manila Bulletin dated July 7 said suspected vigilantes in Nueva Ecija have been linked to a dozen of drug-related killings over the past few days.
Police reports revealed there have been 14 victims who turned up dead since the current administration launched its no-nonsense campaign against illegal drugs in the country.
Among them are Mamangon Ignacio, Jonathan Errna Atacador, Manuel Ceña Andres, Melda Valdez Trapalgal, Alma Panahaon Santos and Mirasol Lavapie Ramos; all of whom have been linked to illegal drug trades in the province and were summarily executed by suspected vigilante groups.
The video below closely resembles how Ignacio, 45, was killed. He was reportedly shot by motorcycle-riding gunman on Maharlika Highway in Barangay Bitas.
