STOCKHOLM, Sweden – A Swedish policewoman who was enjoying her vacation tackled and arrested a pickpocket while wearing her bikini.
Imogen Calderwood mentioned in her article for Daily Mail that Mikaela Kellner, a police officer for 11 years and a veteran of Swedish Ninja Warrior, was enjoying the sun in her bikini while in a Stockholm park with friends when the unsuspecting pickpocket approached.
Disguising as magazines seller for the homeless, the man began talking to the group of bikini-clad women. However, the group realized that the mobile phone of one of them was missing after the man left.
“I just acted on instinct and didn’t think about it so much until after we had pinned him down,” Kellner said.
“When I sat there I looked over at our other two friends who are not police officers and realized that it probably looked pretty funny,” Kellner added as quoted in an article by The Local.
Kellner uploaded a photo of the arrest in her Instagram account, and it has gone viral receiving more than 7,000 likes just a few days after it was uploaded.
“I would have stepped in no matter what my outfit. Had I been naked I would also have intervened. Nothing will stop me,” Kellner said.
While working as a police officer, Kellner is also a fitness enthusiast and wanted to spend her free time power-lifting and doing Crossfit.
“He realized quite quickly that it wasn’t worth struggling,” the police officer said.
“There was no time so I ran after him, maybe 15 meters or so. One of my friends is also a police officer, so we got hold of him,” she added.
