Korina Sanchez-Roxas is a well known broadcast journalist of ABS-CBN. Before making it to the spot light, it can be recalled that she started as a field reporter. But currently, she is now the Chief Correspondent for the Integrated News and Current Affairs Division of ABS-CBN, AM Radio DZMM and cable TV ABS-CBN News Channel. She also has a regular in The Philippine Star entitled “That Does It” as well as “K Ka Lang” in Pilipino Star Ngayon.
But she has another milestone to celebrate as she finally graduated from Ateneo De Manila University with the Master’s degree in Journalism last Saturday, June 25, 2016. She posted a photo in her Instagram account, wearing the graduation cap and expressed her excitement.
In an interview with ABS-CBN, she said that she always wanted to earn a Master’s degree but her toxic schedule with her work in ABS-CBN made it took a while. Quoting from her interview “A few years ago I had an inkling we were going through this whole political exercise again and my mind kept racing in all directions foreseeing the drastic changes in my life all over again. To keep my head straight, I thought to focus on something productive. And that was school. I’m happy I did it.” She also admitted that it wasn’t easy, but it helped her a lot not just in career but as an individual. “It helped me get a grip on my own life, too. The exercise of taking Masters in Journalism isn’t just for more knowledge or to equip me better as a professional. It was also, and mostly in this particular circumstance, a way to discipline my mind,” she said.
