Timothy Tan, the husband of actress Sunshine Dizon, confirmed that they have separated, further saying that they were having marital problems over the past months.
Tan’s confirmation was revealed in a statement he sent to a particular network, an article published on Rappler revealed.
“Since the start of the year, our marriage has underwent numerous challenges and as with any relationship, we have truly tried our best to resolve certain issues,” he said. “However, we have both concluded that an annulment is warranted,” his statement further reads.
In confirming their present marital status, Tan vowed to be a good father to their two children as he further apologized for the pain that the separation has caused.
Expressing sadness on what happened, Tan asked the public for privacy for him and Dizon as he revealed his plan to seek annulment of their marriage.
Prior to the confirmation by Tan, Dizon initially posted last June 19 an Instagram post with a long message hinting on what she had been going through.
The original post, which allegedly narrated Dizon’s ordeal, has been edited to include just the last few statements, the Rappler article mentioned.
Originally, the post purportedly writes: “You used to be my best friend, my partner in everything. We used to talk about everything and anything. Now I wake up from this dream and everything turned to nothing. It was all for nothing. It was all a lie. My nightmares began exactly June of last year. I’ve given you several chances, I swallowed everything for the sake of Doreen and Anton, I tried my best and gave my all. You have disregarded your responsibilities and turned into a monster, all the lies and deception. I have worked hard on my own to survive this family. You just sat there and did nothing. Did you really think I was that stupid? Did you really think I would just cry in one corner and do nothing? Too bad this stupid girl isn’t stupid after all. I will not make excuses for you nor lie. You have shamed your family, you have shamed your children. You will get what you deserve. If you really have balls, face the consequences of your actions. You ruined two families. You ruined the lives of our children. For almost a year you had the audacity to live with that woman in the same building where your own children live. You took my hard-earned money. I have refused to give interviews out of respect for your family but instead you go ahead and do it on your own. There is no forgiveness for what you did. No annulment for you. I will seek justice. I will see you both in court.”

The couple tied the knot in 2010 and were blessed with two children.
