A former Miss USA contestant was found dead inside her home in Minneapolis on Wednesday, June 15.
In an article written by Charlotte Wareing of Mirror, it was disclosed that former Miss USA contestant Samantha Edwards was found dead at the age of 37 years old.
Edwards was found unresponsive inside her home. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the death of the beauty queen in a statement.
In 2003, Edwards was crowned as Miss North Dakota USA. She then went on to compete for the Miss USA title; which was ultimately won by Susie Castillo.
The Miss USA organization has already posted a statement on Facebook, regarding the death of Edwards.
“We are saddened by the sudden loss of Samantha Edwards, Miss North Dakota USA 2003. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. She will forever be a part of this organisation,” the organization stated.
Before her death, Samantha was working as a freelance makeup artist.

Meanwhile, Edward’s friend, Jessica Dereschuk, who won the Miss Minnesota USA in 2004, has set up a GoFundMe account to raise money for funeral costs of her friend.
“I don’t even know how to start this. I still feel like I’m going to wake up & be so thankful that this was all a nightmare. I’ve lost family members, as most everyone has. But I could never be prepared to lose my best friend,” Dereschuk wrote.
“Samantha Edwards, affectionately known by most as “Sami” was one of the most vibrant, crazy, compassionate, loyal balls of energy you could ever come across in life. A conversation with her could either leave you full of adrenaline or utterly exhausted. She was a spitfire and with Sami you never knew what she’d throw your way – but you ALWAYS knew she would be there for you. She was awesome like that,” she added.
As of posting, a total of $ 19,243 were donated in the page.
