- A source told Hollywood Life that Taylor Swift was rattled by Kanye West’s controversial video, ‘Famous’
- The video features various celebrities, including Swift, lying naked in bed with West and his wife Kim Kardashian
- Swift has yet to make an official statement about the controversy
Taylor Swift is “horrified” after Kanye West debuted his new music video for his single ‘Famous’ from his latest album, ‘The Life of Pablo’, which features a naked Swift look alike and surrounded by other naked celebrities.
Included in the video’s roll call are Swift, George W. Bush, West, Kim Kardashian, Amber Rose, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Caitlyn Jenner, Bill Cosby, Donald Trump, Anna Wintour and Ray J.
“Taylor Swift is livid. She is horrified by the ‘Famous’ music video. Taylor didn’t know what to do when she heard about what Kanye did,” a source told Hollywood Life on June 25. “She is bewildered, feels betrayed and is beyond frustrated with Kanye. It is like a complete nightmare. Taylor is pissed to say the least!”
“She is working with her friends in the industry, the people she trusts most, to come up with an appropriate response,” the source continued. “For now, her team has convinced her to stay quiet and not play into Kanye’s beef, cause they all know that’s exactly what he wants. But everything is driving Taylor crazy, and she really wants to let her fans know that she is not okay with this type of crude behavior.”
The song ‘Famous’ was first surrounded by controversy due to the line “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/I made that b***h [expletive] famous”, referring to the 26-year-old pop star.
West initially claimed that he had asked for Swift’s approval of the lyric before releasing the track and that she gave her blessing, which the pop star later denied. However, West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, claims, in her GQ cover story, that Swift is lying.
“She totally approved that,” she said. “She totally knew that that was coming out. She wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t.”
She also said Swift later sent a letter with her attorney that said “Don’t ever let that footage come out of me saying that. Destroy it,” claiming there is a video evidence of Swift’s approval.
Swift remains silent on the issue as the controversy is a deliberate provocation by West.
