Comedian couple Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco, popularly known as “Melason” belied rumors that they have broken up but admitted that they are currently undergoing a problem as a couple which was simply blown out of proportion.
In their new official Instagram account, the couple explained their side of the story.
“Nang mga nakaraang ilang araw, may naging balita po tungkol sa amin na hiwalay na daw po ang Melason (‘forever naging over’), ang totoo po ay may pinagdadaanan po talaga ang Melason, pero lumaki lamang ito dahil sa naikwento namin sa mga ilang tao at Melason fan. [In the past days, there had been news that Melason had broken up (‘forever that was over’). The truth is, Melason really is facing a problem, but it was only blown out of proportion because we shared it to other people and Melason fans],” they wrote.
Speculation about the couple’s breakup arose after the normally social media savvy couple suddenly fell silent in their various accounts.
According to both Francisco and Cantiveros, their absence in social media was due to a hacking incident.
“Nagkataon naman po na nakuha o na hack po talaga ang Instagram account ng Melason. Kaya din di kami nakakapost kasi po may pinagdadaanan nga. Nalaman nalang namin na nangyayari sa social media dahil nga nasabi samin ng admin ng Melason FB. [It just so happened that the Instagram account of Melason was hacked. That is why we weren’t able to post because we had undergone a problem. We just found out about what happened in social media because the admin of the Melason FB informed us],” they recalled.
Assuring their fans that they are facing their challenges as a couple together, the two posted a photo of them together with their daughter, Mela.
“hi melason lovers , walang makakapaghiwalay sa aming masaya at magandang pamilya ; wala sino mang makakasira samin dahil mahal na mahal namin ang isat isa lalo si baby mela namo. [Hi Melason lovers! No one can ever separate our happy and beautiful family. No one can destroy us because we love each other very much and especially our baby Mela],” they wrote.
