- Parokya ni Edgar vocalist Chito Miranda now appears undecided on whom to support as president
- In a Twitter post, Miranda said he is willing to listen to the sides of Duterte’s rival camps
- He did not confirm, however, whether he has finally shifted allegiance to other presidential bet
MANILA, Philippines – Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda, who earlier endorsed Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, has now appeared undecided over whom to support; barely a week remaining before the national election on May 9.
The popular rock singer, who earlier admitted he was offered P200-M in exchange for endorsing a presidential bet had always been vocal about his support for the outspoken Davao mayor.
He even reiterated his support for Duterte following the latter’s controversial remark against Pope Francis late last year.
However, on his Twitter account @chitomirandajr, Miranda said that although he remains pro-Duterte, he is now willing to listen to the sides of other camps.
“Ano sa tingin nyo? Kelangan natin pumili. Du30 ako pero gusto ko marinig side ng iba. Pls educate me intelligently,” Miranda wrote on April 28. [What do you think? We have to choose. I’m for Du30 but I want to hear the side of others. Please educate me intelligently.]
This was followed by a series of tweets; sharing of his own takes on other candidates.
“Duterte – well loved, will focus on fighting drugs, crime, and corruption. Impressive ang Davao & 911,” Miranda wrote on April 29. “Roxas – annoying but good for economy.”
“Miriam – perfect sana, only issue is health. Poe -ok lang din [also okay]. Gordon -perfect sana pero di naman tumakbo…kaya mauuna na ko [Gordon would have been perfect, but he’s not running]” he added.
Noticeably, the only presidential candidate Miranda did not mention in his post is Vice President Jejomar Binay.
Nevertheless, he wishes all his followers, as well as the entire voting populace, much luck in choosing their candidates come election day.
While Miranda did not say whether he has decided to shift allegiance to another candidate, the PNE frontman clarified he only wanted guidance in finally choosing his bet.
“I want to make sure that I know everything there is to know about all our candidates para makasiguro ako na tama ang magiging desisyon ko [to make sure that I’ll be making the right decision],” his latest Twitter status update read.
