- Actress-politician Alma Moreno asked netizens to stop mocking her
- She said she was hurt by the parody Twitter account @LovelinessAlma
- The actress said she’s not that dumb
Actress Alma Moreno, who ran an unsuccessful senatorial bid, had asked netizens and critics to stop making fun of her.
The actress-politician admitted being hurt by the parody Twitter account @LovelinessAlma, which poked fun at her during the campaign season, Rappler noted.
Moreno ran for senator under outgoing Vice President Jejomar Binay’s United Nationalist Alliance party, but did not make it to the top 12.
“Masyado naman akong pinaglaruan. Masyado naman ako binabastos. Masakit,” she said referring to the parody account during an interview with DZMM.
[It mocked me too much. It disrespected me. It hurts]
“Ewan ko kung sino iyan na ayaw ako tigilan. Ano ba naman to? Talo na nga ako, ano pa nginingitngit nito? Bakit kailangan ako maliin nang maliin? Kung anu-ano pinaglalagay,” she lamented
[I don’t know who’s behind this. What’s this? I already lost (the senatorial bid), what’s with the rants? Why does it need to make me look like I’m always wrong? Putting random things]
Moreno clarified that she does not own a Twitter account nor was she ever in-charge of the parody account.
“No, hindi ko account at wala akong account. Hindi naman ako ganun- tingin nila sa ‘kin wala akong alam, hindi naman po. Hindi naman ako ganun ka-bobo. Sobra naman, ‘di ba?” Moreno explained.
[No, it’s not my account and I don’t have an (Twitter) account. I’m not like that. They think I know nothing, that’s not the case. I’m not that dumb. It’s unreasonable, isn’t it?]
Right after the May 9 elections, the parody account made fun of her by tweeting the following: “Whoever wins tomorrow will be declared the winner” and in reference to her conceding defeat in the elections, @LovelinessAlma tweeted: “I conceive! Goodnight.”
The parody account has been deactivated, but screenshots of its tweets have been circulated online.
