- Duterte to undertake massive reshuffle in government once he assumes office
- The incoming president said the PNP, NBI and the Bureau of Corrections will be greatly affected by the planned revamp
- Duterte said he will consult Chief Supt. Ronald de la Rosa, the incoming PNP Chief, in the implementation of the planned reshuffle
Incoming President Rodrigo Duterte warned of a massive re-shuffle in the government once he assumes the presidency on June 30.
In an early morning press conference held on Thursday, May 26, at the Mandaya Hotel in Davao City, the presumptive president said there will be a massive movement of people in the government.
“I’m putting down a notice for everybody,” he added.
Duterte particularly mentioned the Philippine National Police, National Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Corrections that will be greatly affected by the massive revamp he plans to undertake.
He made special mention to Bureau of Corrections, which is maintaining the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), and warned its officials to get ready to “pack up.”
“Lahat sa Muntinlupa, magbalot na kayo,” the 71-year-old former prosecutor and longtime mayor of Davao City warned.

Politiko noted that Duterte earlier tagged the NBP as a factory of illegal drugs like methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, because drug lords detained there were allegedly allowed to “cook” the illegal substances within the walls of the prison facility.
Duterte said he is considering the military or the national police to handle the NBP.
He also warned PNP officials to brace for new assignments.
“Maghanda na ang mga pulis sa massive reshuffle…Pati police generals, magre-reshuffle. I am not threatening. I am going to do it,” he said.

Duterte said he will consult Chief Supt. Ronald de la Rosa, the incoming PNP Chief, in the implementation of the planned reshuffle.
