- VP Binay promised to imprison Duterte for admitting his connections to Davao Death Squad
- He again called on voters not to vote for an executioner like Duterte
- He said he will make a commission to investigate Duterte’s alleged links to summary killings
MANILA, Philippines – Continuing on the offensive against his erstwhile friend, Vice President Jejomar Binay promised to send Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to jail once he becomes president on account of his alleged links with the so-called Davao Death Squad.
[If I become president, I will have that killer of children and the poor sent to jail. I will make sure the Davao Death Squad along with Duterte who admitted several times he was part of them be punished.]
Binay again called on voters not to put Duterte in power, saying their lives and that of their loved ones will be in danger because the mayor will kill them based on mere suspicion.
[There have been so many murder cases in Davao City for a long time, and Duterte himself confessed to being part of the Davao Death Squad. They kill brazenly with no respect for due process but on mere rumors and you will be killed.]
According to the Vice President, he will set up a truth commission to investigate the mayor’s links to the vigilante group and list down his liabilities.
He added the commission will be different from the unconstitutional one President Benigno Aquino III created to investigate his predecessor Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo since Duterte has since admitted his links.
